African-American Women in the Civil Rights Crusades
Many African-American women took leadership positions in the Civil Rights struggles, including Mary Church-Terrell, Ida B. Wells-Barnett, Alice Dunbar-Nelson and Mary McLeod-Bethune. The women’s right to vote, education for women, ending lynching, and addressing racial and gender discrimination could not have been achieved without these women.
Come listen to Syl Woolford in a celebration of four extraordinary women and the crusades which they waged against injustice.
