Community Wellness Lecture Series at Excellens Physical Therapy
Ever heard of pelvic health physical therapy? What are pelvic floor muscles? Did you know that there are physical therapists who specialize in treating pregnant and post-partum women? How about physical therapy for constipation? Join us every other Thursday as we answer these questions and demystify pelvic and abdominal physical therapy. We will discuss anatomy, physiology, common issues and conditions that are treatable through PT, and what to expect at physical therapy appointments. You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions and meet one of our pelvic floor therapists. Refreshments will be provided!
March 14th 5:30-6:30 pm: Mind Over Bladder: Understanding Pelvic Floor Weakness
Have you always been curious about what kegels actually are? Do you lose a little urine when you sneeze? This talk is for you! Pelvic floor muscle weakness is very common, and not something to be embarrassed about. Join us to discuss common problems like urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary urgency/frequency. We’ll talk about why these things happen, how physical therapy can help, and strategies to try on your own at home.
